Breakfast in Spier Hotel and Wine Farm
Restaurant/places to eat in Spier Hotel and Wine Farm
Bed in Spier Hotel and Wine Farm
Very spacious room, nicely decorated and appointed, bedlinen was excellent. Large bathroom with double basins and full sized amenities which were refilled daily. Generous fridge with complimentary wine and water, also selection of coffees and teas available. Quiet, despite the size of the property and the number of guests. Particularly liked the small, more private pools located in between the accommodation blocks. This left the main pool for the families with children of all ages. Friendly staff and great service with individuals taking time to interact with guests. Variety of meals to choose from and also offered room service, the breakfast buffet was a little disappointing with a limited selection of fruits and cereals which did not vary. Huge selection of breads and pastries and a variety of hot food although green beans for breakfast seemed odd.

Michael

Great room size (Garden Terrace Room). The bed is so comfortable and good quality linen makes for a great nights sleep. Fantastic breakfast (with yummy baked goods from Vadas bakery), lovely property to explore (walking and cycling). Great security, very friendly and helpful staff throughout, every member of the Spier team goes the extra mile with a smile. Wine tasting included with booking is a nice bonus. Loadshedding did not impact our stay. Dinner menu very reasonable for a hotel and the food is wonderful. The property was fully booked during our stay but it never felt too crowded or busy. Spa treatments offered are great and well priced too.

Everything. Spier has to be one of the best Hotels we have been lucky enough to stay at. From the interior styling/ atmosphere and location to the customer service we couldn’t fault it. The food was exceptional; both breakfast and dinner. Complimentary mountain bikes to be able to truly appreciate the fantastic location, the vast array of contemporary art both in the main Manor House and dotted around the estate, wine tasting experience (all wines were exceptional) from the estate and of course the open fires in our rooms all added up to the most memorable stay. We were so lucky to stay here and so sad to say goodbye but we will definitely be back.

The staff are all amazing- loved the service throughout - exceptional Bed super comfy and turndown service - lovely touch Coffee press for fresh coffee/ tea - fridge for our wine Breakfast - fresh juices / amazing barista / fresh buffet table with lots of fruits yoghurts etc Courtyard room - brilliant option with gorgeous patio and access to pool and loungers in the courtyard - saves going to the main pool Resort feel - so many lovely aspects - gardens art work and river walks etc Free wine tasting / complimentary wine Great facilities for eating - lots of choice The spa was amazing too - excellent facial

The beds were excellent and the breakfast was the best we had on our whole trip in South Africa. Simply great. The choices for dinner were solid at the main restaurant. The smokehouse that is also on the premises was only ok, and the staff a bit snappy. The whole area is beautiful and the free wine tasting and bottle you get for staying made us feel valued. You are a bit secluded, but this can be a good thing. The rooms even have small fireplaces if it gets cold.
